Why Your Ego Isn’t the Enemy (According to Freud)

Freud’s concept of the 'ego' often gets a bad rap, but let’s rethink that. The ego is what mediates between our primal desires (the id) and our moral compass (the superego).

In a leadership role, your ego can be your greatest tool—helping you balance ambition with ethics, and productivity with people.

When ego is in check, we make decisions that align both with our personal goals and the needs of the team. It's when ego swings too far in either direction (overly selfish or overly selfless) that problems arise.

Today, let’s embrace Freud’s balanced ego as a key to great leadership: mindful of others, but also assertive in pursuing our goals.
